First Swim of the Season

It was so hot today that Ava and I headed to Wal-Mart for a pool. Emma was interested for 2 seconds until she sensed the danger of being splashed.
Playing with her Cinderella tea set lead to hillarious laughter. It was more something out of Alice in Wonderland!
Practicing blowing bubbles
Running from Daddy in the yard...which of course leads to lots of grass in the pool.

Tracy's Dress

Tracy's first attempt at a little sundress...I think it turned out pretty great! It fits Ava perfectly.

Happy Mother's Day

This is the hotplate Ava made me at daycare. I wasn't able to go to the party because Ava had strep throat that day.

Ava's new, new room

While Tracy was here visiting this week, we finished decorating Ava's room. We covered the picture frame, and Tracy sewed the flower with her new sewing maching....she has become quite the accomplished seamstress!

To help cover this large wall, we covered canvas with material and ric-rack ribbon and attached her name. The hooks are perfect to hang her towel, bags, etc.

The green vase and happy gerber daisy helped bring the room's colors to this corner.

Ava's growth chart hidden behind her door. She's growing sooo big!

Watercolors by Ava

Once we planted our flowers, Ava would take a piece of mulch and use it as her "paintbrush" to paint with water out of the saucer and onto the pot. This lead me to purchase watercolors. Now she is such the budding artist. You can place orders for portraits now...she's booking up fast!

Rain, Rain...Go Away!

This is about all we've been able to do outside lately. Ava went out to make sure the french drains were cleared out in between storms. At least we've avoided tornadoes (so far). Michael's Aunt Betty and Uncle John came by today for lunch. It's always nice to see them. They brought Ava a wooden duck toy from the Peabody. She named it Duckie and has been taking it everywhere. It also likes to eat popcorn!
She is always excited to use her umbrella.
